The Good: Informative, fun to watch, strong masculine smell
The Bad: Melodramatic

Review:
I have been enjoying this show since its premiere a few weeks ago. Bear Grylls, an individual of evidently almost superhuman strength/stamina/knowledge/etc., goes from rough place to rough place and teaches YOU how to survive if you find yourself in these situations. I'm really digging the show so far, except for the occasional (alright, downright frequent) melodrama. (110 comments)

The Good: Healthy (although not that much compared to other Lean Cuisines, apple crisp is ok
The Bad: chicken/orzo/vegetables/glaze were awful

Review:
I haven't written a review in a while, but this merited it. This entree is easily the worst microwave entree I've ever had. So much for trying out the new LC entrees. And, it has more calories (400) than most (around 280). I'll wrestle through it because I'm hungry, but don't make the same mistake in picking this one out for yourself. (1 comment)

The Good: Tastes like skittles but is gum
The Bad: expensive, not widely available

Review:
Sarah loves skittles, so I pick these up whenever I see them. They taste just like skittles, but are gum (of a reasonable quality). I like them a lot, but they don't last very long and aren't cheap. Skittles, come on! Let me buy a pound bag of your gum! (1 comment)

The Good: Value for the money
The Bad: ?

Review:
I got one of these with the gift certificate Sarah's mom got us for our wedding gift (we got other stuff too). It's a 40 degree bag I think, but that's ok because I'm always hot in sleeping bags. I've used it on a few occasions (none camping yet, unfortunately) and am happy with its performance. It stuffs really well and I can unzip the bottom to cool my feet. (3251 comments)

Restaurant - Pok-A-Dot (Rating: 4)

The Good: Beef on Wick, French Fries and Gravy, Root Beer, Italian Omelet
The Bad: Unhealthy

Review:
The Pok-A-Dot is a tiny diner in Batavia, New York. Sarah worked there for quite a while when she lived in Batavia. There's no smoking inside, so that is great. When I go, I always get one of two things: Beef on Wick with fries and gravy or an Italian Omelet (eggs, cheese, sausage, hot peppers, sweet peppers, onions, hash browns). Man that's good.

The Good: Brainless and entertaining
The Bad: Having to be reminded to get my pet spayed or neutered every time, the crazy women that want to marry Bob Barker

Review:
Whenever I was home "sick" in elementary and middle school, I would always bring my blanket and pillow downstairs before 11AM to catch The Price is Right. I don't know why I have such an attachment to it, but I really do enjoy watching it. Not enough to DVR it though, and not enough to watch it if I'm not doing something else.
Technology Related - ColdFusion MX (Rating: 4.5)

The Good: VERY quick deployment time, easy language
The Bad: Harder to find support for tough problems, Macromedia is so innovative they are almost bleeding edge (without telling the developers) sometimes.

Review:
As anyone who has ever talked to me about web development knows, I am a HUGE ColdFusion fan. I do almost all my development in it, and, having had experience as an ASP developer too, I can definitely say that ColdFusion is much more suited to my development style. It was built for the web from the ground up. I can't speak for how it compares to ASP.NET, but I know I'm consistently churning out code quickly with it. My only complaints are that it's hard to get support for it sometimes and Macromedia tends to include features in final versions that don't appear to be fully tested. (0 comments)

Technology Related - Dreamweaver MX 2004 (Rating: 4)

The Good: Strong development platform, nice multi-platform support
The Bad: Needs a "lite" version, SERIOUS caching problems

Review:
I use Dreamweaver for all my ColdFusion and ASP development. Also HTML if that counts. I miss ColdFusion Studio, but I understand the need to have one platform. It supports (and quickly brings up references for) the major web programming languages. I can develop quickly in it, and it is available on mac and PC platforms. I wish they had a tuned down version that didn't support all the site features. Those seem to cause problems. The biggest problem with Dreamweaver MX 2004 is that sometimes it will overwrite a file on the server with an older cached copy. To safely and consistently get around this, you need to browse to the cache on your hard drive before you start development for the day and delete all the files for the cache for the site(s) you're going to be working on.

The Good: Easy to use
The Bad: Has become bloatware, not enough advanced features

Review:
I used to like AOL Instant Messenger. Then they realized that, now that they had a userbase of millions of users, they could start forcing advertisements on people. I stopped using it shortly after videos (with sound) started spontaneously playing in my AIM window in the middle of the day. I use Adium for OS X now and love it. (1 comment)

The Good: Lots of them
The Bad: Mediocre food at best, very inconsistent

Review:
I've had consistently bad experiences at the Applebees restaurant in Winston-Salem. Others have been hit and miss. As a general rule, I only go if I'm forced to go with a group. (0 comments)

The Good: Awesome sales reps, LOTS of expertise at your fingertips, very competitive pricing, great online extranet
The Bad: Anything messed up in accounting takes a while to figure out.

Review:
Almost all the hardware purchasing (with the exception of Dell workstations) I do is through CDW. Their sales support surpasses anything I've ever worked with. I have a "team" of 8-10 people who specialize in different things and then one rep. He treats me right, gets me answers and gives me good advice. He's always there when I call and I get what I need when I order. Returns are easy, but if anything gets caught up in accounting, it can take quite a while to get sorted out. The extranet is such that I don't have to call for most things I order. (0 comments)

The Good: Great chips/salsa and soft tacos
The Bad: Poor service recently in Winston-Salem

Review:
Whenever I think about Chilis, I remember their awesome bottomless chips and salsa. I like them SO much more than the ones at any mexican restaurant. Also, if you're on a diet (a reasonable one), you can structure the soft tacos to allow you to stick to the diet and get a ton of flavor. (0 comments)

The Good: The best cinnamon rolls
The Bad: unhealthy and addictive

Review:
I could pretty much always go for a Cinnabon cinnamon roll. They are sooooo good and rich. Oh yeah, and ask for extra icing. Costs extra, but shouldn't a heart attack? I can't speak for the rest of their creations (drinks, strawberry buns, etc.). I never deviate from the traditional Cinnabon. (1 comment)
